The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which recently increased the fares, has given a holiday discount to travelers who travel by metro on Independence Day, though people will have trouble due to parking closure.
For the first time, the DMRC will allow a maximum of 50 per cent discount in different categories of existing metro in existing metro on national holiday. If you are thinking of taking a metro ride by parking your vehicle at the metro station to take advantage of this relaxation, then know that the parking of the subway will be closed one day before the 15th August.In the last eight years, the fare has been increased from May 10 in the metro rental. The rent-taking committee had made provision for the exemption of Metro fares on national holiday January 26, August 15 and October 2.
Smart card holders double benefit
The Metro Board had assumed it. For the first time on August 15 this will be the benefit of Metro passengers. Most of the passengers will be able to travel 5 to 12 kilometers. At present, he fare 20 rupees for this distance, but on 15th August it will have to pay 10 rupees for this distance. That is 50% discount.
In this way, those who travel from 0 to 12 kilometers will be required to pay only 10 rupees, whereas in normal days 10 rupees for 2 km and 5 km for 15 and 5 to 12 kms had to be paid 20 rupees. .
Passengers with smart cord will get double benefit. The 10 percent discount they will get from traveling with the cord with this discount will continue as before. The discount will be available on August 15, when the Metro starts running. Due to security reasons, all Metro parking (Delhi-NCR) will be closed.
